El Cucubano is more than just a place to stay, its a place to experience Puerto Rico as locals do. Settled behind our private home in Islote, Arecibo , El Cucubano which was built between 2010 - 2011 boasts a shared patio (with us ) , an outdoor shower, BBQ, and boutique garden. Its flanked by a forest on one side and on the other, a lone "Limonero" (Lemon Tree ) which as grown so tall and so bountiful that it now covers the roof of the entire cottage - thus creating a Green Roof, which keeps the cottage cool even during the daylight hours. From your bed, slip open the sliding door to reveal a beautiful patio, where you can enjoy your morning coffee in absolute peace.
Inside you will find all that you require and more, The Kitchen features a gas stove, sink, fridge ( Bar fridge size ) , coffee machine , cookware, glassware and cutlery. The kitchen is equipped with a sofa that folds out should you require extra sleeping space. The bedroom sleeps 4 comfortably which one double bed and two singles, mounted one on top of the other in bun bed style.Bedroom has a wall Air Conditioner for your comfort, should you need/want a fan instead - please ask. Cable television is provided and internet is available in the courtyard or on the Hammock outside. Linen and towels are provided and cleaned weekly at a fee.
En-suite bathroom with all the necessities, toilet, washbasin, mirror and shower (Cold water ) .
We are one street back from the beach, and as close as you can get to all the best surfing spots on the North Coast. Within a 15 minute drive you will find 4 world class waves that all work with relative consistency.As your hosts are avid water people, we will help you to make the best decisions as where to go. We are close to a variety of restaurants/bars and bakeries and about 15 minutes from the nearest town/supermarket/bank etc.
We have a great relationship with a tour guide and an extensive knowledge of great things/places to see and do while in Puerto Rico to make your stay even more enjoyable.
