Grădina Zoologică Galaţi este situată în Pădurea Gârboavele, în comuna Tulucești, la 17 km NV de municipiul Galaţi. Pe cca. 14 ha, grădina zoologică adăposteşte o colecţie variată de specii de animale, în special mamifere şi păsări, dintr-o multitudine de regiuni geografice ale lumii (Europa, Asia şi Africa): lei, tigri siberieni, urşi bruni, lupi, cerbi carpatini şi lopătari, mistreţi, dar şi specii ornamentale de găini, fazani şi păuni. Pentru a fi în conformitate cu noile prevederi legale privind conservarea biodiversităţii au fost luate o serie de măsuri deosebit de importante privind reabilitarea şi modernizarea spaţiilor de expunere a majorităţii animalelor. Obiectivele Grădinii Zoologice Gârboavele sunt de conservare a faunei sălbatice, de îmbogăţire a colecţiei proprii, dar şi de educaţie a publicului vizitator pentru a-i schimba viziunea despre animalul sălbatic.
The Galaţi Zoological Garden is located in Garboavele forest, in the commune of Tulucesti, 17 kilometers north-west of Galati municipality. On approximately 14 hectares, the zoo shelters a sundry collection of animal species, especially mammals and birds, from a multitude of geographical areas of the world (Europe, Asia, and Africa): lions, Siberian tigers, brown bears, wolves, Carpathian and roe deers, wild boars, and ornamental species of hens,
pheasants, and peacocks. In order to comply with the new legal provisions on the conservation of biodiversity, a series of very important measures has been taken for the rehabilitation and modernization of exhibition spaces of most animals. The objectives of the Garboavele Zoo are to preserve wild fauna, to enrich its collection, and to educate the visiting public as to change their vision of the wild animal.
