The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is a non-formal education and learning framework operating in more than 130 countries and territories around the world, through which young people's achievements outside of academia are recognised and celebrated.In the Award, the point is for each participant to engage in activities they enjoy. It is important to learn to achieve your goals and try something new. Holders of the program receive an internationally recognised certificate, which is suitable for resumes, but also for study abroad.In Romania, the Award program is present in schools, private schools, universities, NGOs, mountain clubs, penitentiaries, reeducation centres and youth initiatives.More than 10.000 young people from Romania took part in the Award, supported by more than 2000 Award Leaders, teachers, youth workers and involved professionals/employees.In the world, there are 1.3 million young people who are completing the Award program.
