Gliding Transylvania is a non-profit sports association, a private gliding club, created on the model of most gliding clubs in the world, the first of its kind in Romania, where every glider enthusiast can become a member and fly according with existing rules and fees.

Gliding Transylvania was founded in 2014 by seven members of the Romanian Airclub. Currently we have five gliders: two I.S.-28 B2 double sitter glider and three single sitter gliders (two Ka8 B’s and one I.S.-29 D2). We also created a new airfield, outside controlled airspace, near the mountains with various landscapes in the nearby from plains, hills, slopes and mountains.

Our purpose is to organize, promote, develop and practice this beautiful aeronautical sport and, in order to do that, we want to work with any other airclubs and similar organizations, to help and learn from each other!
