" Originally from Hodoș village, Timiș County, it is believed this church was built in the second half of the eighteenth century. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the Austrian Empire initiated an urban planning project in the area; subsequently, the church was moved to the new village center location.

In 1923 the church undergoes heavy repair work: the oak walls were plastered with a mud compound and the interior walls were whitewashed, therefore the painting was destroyed. However, experts advise, there is a possibility that originally the church was actually never painted.

Due to advanced degradation that took place in time, and from a desire to save and preserve it, around 1970 the church was removed from its old location and relocated to its present site. Ample restoration work was planned and executed. Presently, the church still has no murals, but the walls and iconostasis display a beautiful collection of old local icons, both on wood and glass.

During the last years more improvement work took place, the last of which happened in 2015, when the church was also renamed as “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ” church. "
