" Situated in the local cemetery, on a hill on the north side of the village, it is said the church was originally built in a different place, “Slavesti Valley”, in 1779. The local tradition maintains that a relocation took place around year 1800 as part of an urban planning project in the Banat area, initiated by the Austrian Empire.
The walls were initially built from oak and plastered with clay. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the church had to undergo heavy repair work. During this process, the wooden shingle roof was replaced with tile, the tower roof was covered in galvanized tin and the windows were enhanced. Inside, the vault of the nave and the sanctuary were repainted, unfortunately the painting lacks artistic quality.
This church, like many other monuments in Banat, still awaits our interest. Due to the rapid deterioration process, only through swift and determined action will we be still able to enjoy its beauty in the future. "
