Khrabrovo Airport is the airport of Kaliningrad, located 24km north of the city near the village of Khrabrovo. While it mostly serves scheduled domestic destinations, part of it is still a military base of the Russian Air Force.History 1922 - Joint Russian-German joint venture Deruluft starts flights on first scheduled international route, from Königsberg (Devau airport) - Moscow 1945 - Airport is transferred to Civil Air Fleet of USSR 1961 - Joint Air Squadron formed at the basis of airport and airline 1977 - Operations of Tupolev-134 begin 1979 - Passenger terminal is built in Khrabrovo 1988 - Tupolev-154s begin operations to Kaliningrad 1992 - Enterprise separates from Vnukovo Production association and becomes independent entity 1993 - First scheduled international flights begin. Two Tupolev-154s are purchased 1997 - Air enterprise is renamed “Kaliningrad Avia” 2001 - Air enterprise is in receivership 2002 - Change of ownership structure.
