" Stayed here for a week, we stayed in one the rooms that had not been renovated yet, but it was stiller verry nice! Breakfast was great and overall service was excellent! Location of the hotell is hard to match with a beautifull beach a stone throw away and a short walk to the local town. "

" Le Duc is a fine hotel, a bit quaint if you look at the various statues around the garden.
We found Le Duc was a bit overpriced compared to other hotels in La Digue or Mahe. We were upgraded to a family suite, which is a huge, but not very well designed. The room can accommodate 4 people (1 double bed, 2 singles), yet the bathroom doesn't have a door for the toilets ! It's stupid to have such a big bathroom, and not be able to have multiple people using it at the same time.

The wifi was also a total nightmare, it never worked properly.

They have 2 restaurants, Le Dauphin, inside the main building and close to the pool, and Le Cafe des Arts, next to the beach.

Le Dauphin was a total disaster, with crappy service (even by Seychellois standards), and disgusting food.

Le Cafe des Arts was much better, but quite pricey for Seychelles.

Overall the quality of service was random, ranging from very bad to correct. "

" Great food and good, spacious rooms! Only minus is the fruit bat in the cage in backyard, that’s cruel :’( "

" The lowdown on Le Duc:
- go for a superior room in the new eco wing. These are very new and modern, great rooms, and also have access to a "private" pool for only rooms in the eco wing
- breakfast is good and has alot of variety
- beachfront, but not beach facing (so no views). In any case, Cote D'Or beach is nothing special
- lots of dinner options nearby (Laurier's creole buffet and Pirogue for a la carte are highlights) to avoid the SCR600 steep dinner at the hotel
- airport transfer is $500 booked through hotel, you could haggle and get $400 if booked privately, but the car and driver through the hotel was great
- $150 to $200 for a taxi to Anse Lazio (great beach you have to visit)
- $150 for a taxi to the ferry jetty (to get to La Digue)

Overall a good 4 star option. The service level and lack of private pool / beachfront plus no a la carte option for lunch and dinner means that this will never be as good as the Raffles (5 star) down the road. "

" They falsely advertise on their website that they have 22 standard renovated rooms with shower & bathtub (photos on their site for standard rooms are what they call Superior and charge you extra for them if they have any available). All the renovated rooms are sold as Superior rooms, even at the reception they say they have only 6 standard rooms (two by the pool and 4 somewhat further away, not quite in the main location).
Value for the money is poor (300€ / night for standard with breakfast). But location is indeed good, breakfast nothing fancy but good also. They have sunbeds for their customers on the beach and yes the sand is white and very fine.
Small pool and garden are nice (bar and restaurant more expensive that it should).
If you want to stay here get a superior room at the 1st floor in a renovated building only.
Local staff is slow (everywhere not only at Duc) "
