" There's something about the place...
Occasionally one comes across a gem of a place - that almost feels too good to be true.
The shoe-ban on entry, sort of, gives away that this is not your "run of the mill" type place. Walking around in your socks, or borrowed slippers, somehow makes the whole experience more intimate.
Bring your own food and enjoy the, stunning, panoramic view from the dining room. Let the kids hang out in the drawing area. Grab a coffee, tea or cordial (all of which is free of charge - though donations are welcome) and chill in front of the open fire in the library. Join the kids, who now have found their way to the woodwork department, and make a bird- or bat house at the cost of the material used.
Ask the staff for suitable walks and "take it all in".
If you are disabled this is a great place to suck in the atmosphere without the legwork.
Visit soon - great places have a tendency to disappear... "
