" We visited for one night at the beginning of July. We paid about EUR 80, for a room for up to four people. And another EUR 15 for breakfast for three. This compares to about EUR 95 in a local hotel (Best Western, pre-season family special) including breakfast. I personally thought the Vandarerhem was overpriced considering the quality of the rooms and the cleanliness of the place.
The room was very small with two bunk beds on each side of the wall. You have to bring your own duvet covers and pillow cases to use on the beds. The bedding they provided was filthy with lots of hair and yellow stains on it. While we were there, the Vandarerhem had full occupancy which meant that you had to share two toilets and one bathroom with about 40 people on your floor. Naturally, the bathrooms were quite dirty after a while. This place caters to budget travelers and families with small children. It is located directly next to the train station which is a huge plus for people who travel without cars, it has a nice patio with a playground in the backyard. There is an ICA Kvantum supermarket near by and as is typical for a Vandarerhem, there is a kitchen where you can refrigerate and prepare food.
When you go to a Vandarerhem you need to expect less cleanliness than you get at a hotel. However, for only a little more, you can stay in a hotel...
