WHATThe BeyondCovid Agenda is not a cry for help. We intend to give a voice to the often unheard, reaching the unreached. We seek to amplify the awareness among citizens of the SAARC region on the ramifications on marginalised urban communities living among us, who are often unseen till a disaster strikes. Coupled with expert advice and outcomes of evidence-based analysis, we call for real change to achieve a cohesive, equitable and mutually beneficial society. WHOMarginalised urban communities that live among us in the shadows of our urban dwellings. From migrant workers to LGBTI and Indigenous people, the disabled to the refugees and undocumented settlers in squalid livelihoods. WHYAn opportunity is presented to include marginalised urban communities, working in uninsured occupations, in the post-Covid19 global economic revival agenda. The ensuing pandemic has exacerbated the existing fault-lines within society that has been long neglected by the majority of us. Thus, bringing with it one epiphany after another on the exorbitant price this group of people have to pay as a result of inadequacies in past policies. HOWThrough inclusive public-engagement and individualised, candid opinion-videos by vulnerable people, and in-depth discussions with experts on the issues raised. Through collaboration, by attracting discerning volunteers from grass-roots, to gather evidence-based data on indicators from the community, and produce investigate, factual trend-reports on the issues raised. Through visual and interactive data-storytelling to create localised insights that maps the efficacy-or inadequacies-of existing policies in delivering holistic solutions to the issues raised.
