" Provided info/guide in BLS website are very helpful and comprehensive.
Services are fine but hope for some improvement for better application experience.
Below insight that hopefully can help future applicant:
a. Visa Application Center payment mode only in "Cash".
b. Allow at least 3 weeks for visa processing. Both BLS and Spain Embassy clarified that processing is "15 Working Days" and not "15 Calendar Days". (Spain Embassy takes too long to release the result as compared to other EU embassy which is about 3-5 working days).
c. Visa/Passport is by self-collection.
My Timeline with the visa processing (in Calendar Days):
a. Submission of application (1day)
b. Visa processing (15days including 1 Public Holiday)
c. Visa/Passport collection (1Day)

" I came a few days ago for OCI renewal and new OCI applications for my family. A counter staff named (Mr.Riswan), did a very good job in assisting us. He mentioned the exactly and crystal clear about OCI as it is in the high commission website. The 4 new OCI application he did it in a blink of eye with so much perfection. His counter was the fastest in assisting the customers. I am very very happy with his service. "

" Please take note if you are going for Spain Visa app: you got to get a photocopy of your ICA stamped by MFA to certify it's a true copy (costs you $10 to do this at the MFA building). They dont tell you this requirement on the website (or at least it cant be found easily) but you cant submit the application without this document. Costs $45 if you get BLS to do it for you. "

2. Photo graph taking service was slow; and the photo printed had stripped lines
3. They insisted on courier services and was not upfront on the difference between 10$ and 15$ charges. Instead of giving customer the choice, they straight away charged 15$. I had to argue to wind back the charges.
Indian commission should look into this and introduce a 2nd IVC to encourage competition. "

" For getting a very simple procedure which takes less than 5 mins had a waiting time of over 60 mins. I visited the Tanjong Pagar office, where I wanted to apply for my driving licence confirmation letter. I reached the office when it was 15 mins to three and by the time they called me it was 3.55pm (15:55). I do understand that this is based on the queues, number of people waiting for it and so on and so forth. But the most annoying part of this whole procedure is that it does not give priority based on who comes first. I have personally counted 19 people, who came after me, who has submitted their documents and moved on. But here I was stuck for no reason not knowing when the number is going to be called. The strange part of all these was I had so much time to observe the numbers being called, where the section of number starting with "C"
WAS NOT BEING CALLED FOR 1 HOUR!! Not just my number; none of the numbers starting with C was being called until we had get up and remind them twice that we were still waiting for the number to be called.
This is highly unprofessional and unethical procedures and practice which is being followed in Tanjong Pagar office. "

" An overall smooth experience at this branch. We had a flight to catch on Sunday, and only applied for the VISA on Monday. Usually it takes 3 working days to process the VISA application. For our situation, the week had 1 public holiday, so it was a very tight squeeze. We had serious concerns as to whether the VISA could be processed on time but thankfully we received an SMS confirmation on Tuesday night that the VISA was ready for collection (much faster than expected!)
If you are in a rush to get a VISA, it is advisable to head over early in the morning (queue starts at about 845 am). Bring along supporting documents, on top of the passport and VISA application. Photo must be 2" x 2". Try to get everything on the VISA application right on the first try so as to avoid having to re-fill up the form and queue up again! "
