" The shop attendant and manager were really nice. They helped me with the cd I need and were willing to help me find cd that aren't in stock currently. Thanks also for helping me understand the maintenance for vinyls too. "

" This is an old style music store selling recorded media Cds and DVDs for collectors. There was a special deal of buying three and getting one free DVD when I visited. Staff were helpful and friendly. It was good to go back in time to the pre streaming era. "

" I thought about whether to leave this review because I didn’t buy anything. And the shopkeepers/owners do seem friendly in the short time while I was there. And thus I feel sorry about it but to protect consumers (who may not be aware), what needs to be same must be said.

There’s a reviewer below who commented how come her kpop album had no photocard. That’s probably because the albums were pirated. Half of the collection I saw were non-authentic. Selling at $28.90. Artistes coming from different companies would have different album manufacturing and thus packaging/look. Those stated above all looked punched out from the same factory. No local media authority approval sticker too, which rings an alarm.

As for the other genres/languages albums that looked reasonably-priced, that’s probably because they were for China distribution, which were sold much cheaper at maximum less than $10 in the past. Here, they price it like a normal album so to those with an untrained eye, they wouldn’t tell the difference, but a closer look more than 10 seconds and it’s obvious. These 水货 (as used to describe good under cheap licensing fees) have no value.

For actual albums and singles that were normal and had no issues, they were priced minimally $30, which is then once again too overpriced even if CDs are rare in physical stores now.

The vinyls were quite reasonably priced though, the pre-loved ones do not look well-kept but are as such also priced lower than elsewhere in Singapore. The whole market here is overpriced basically.

To have a CD store in this day and age at a central location like United Square with rent to pay straight away ticked off something weird already. In this era, where no one is familiar with the makings of a CD anymore, they’ve got to take some shortcuts in costs to survive I guess? But for uninformed consumers, please learn to have a sharper eye for details and prevent from feeling disappointed, hopefully now at least you know what you will be getting before paying the money.
