" I really don't get why this place has such good reviews.
I've been here a couple times for afternoon/evening shows in both Ukrainian and English viewings. Each time I've had the following experience:
1) Dirty, dirty showing rooms. They don't pick up between viewings and when I go in there are whole tubs of popcorn/sodas just lying around right when you walk into the room. I understand missing a few kernels of popcorn but it's clear there wasn't even an attempt made to pick things up between shows.
2) Lackluster food offerings. Although I'm happy with the relative prices and the fact you can get two types of popcorn, there's basically no options for candy besides little "zephyrs." They do have french fries and nachos though, I suppose that's a small plus.
3) This only happened one night but it was a doozy - last week my friend and I went to go see "It", and the electricity went out in the theater 4-5 times over the course of an hour. Each time the movie had to restart from the beginning, sometimes only with sound(!), and then was clumsily fast forwarded to the part where we left off. Totally ruined the experience and most of the people left after the 2-3rd time to get a refund. We tried to wait it out but after the 5th time we said forget it.
Bonus - the front doors in King Cross were closed and we had to walk out the underground parking garage and all the way around the building the leave. I don't see why the building security can't work out some sort of deal with the theater to allow people the convenience of leaving through the front doors instead of adding another 5 minute walk around the building. Just silly.
Anyway, after that last experience I won't be coming back. "
