Set within Mabira Forest, Uganda’s second largest forest, you find yourself surrounded by nature’s beauty. The forest is home to 312 species of trees, 315 species of birds, 218 Butterfly species and 23 small mammal species.
The twelve individual cabins, each with ensuite facilities and an individual forest viewing deck assure peace and privacy. The public lounge, with its upper level deck also has remarkable forest views. The restaurant is popular amongst families and day visitors, providing international cuisine in a rare atmosphere. What can you do while at The Rainforest Geo Lodge? In proper appreciation of the fine forest weather, One of the activities you can do is a FOREST WALK at only 10USD. This is an opportunity to learn more about the forest. You should look out for 300 year old trees, rubber trees, over 300 species of butterflies, birds, monkeys and if very lucky a tree hyrax. Our return visit to Rainforest Lodge did not disappoint. Joackim and his staff were excellent . Chef Godfrey provided scrumptious meals. Beautiful bird walks in Mabira. Butterflies were in profusion. And the tree hyraxes made the evenings special. Accommodation was extremely comfortable. Thank you Uganda."
