We are a community-focused organization in which people help people and we help those who can't care for themselves. We are especially focusing on children and elderly people in a small village near Entebbe, Uganda. By being an NGO we are aiming to receive long-term donations, partnerships with other organizations as well as improved human resources such as volunteers to help us out on-site in Uganda. Apart from running a sponsorship program for children to attain school education, WUCFo provides socio-psychological support to children and consultation to guardians. The organization has also established a very successful soccer academy to use football for youth and girls empowerment – since 2018, more than 20 children could get a government scholarship for school education through football. Since recently, the focus is also on supporting women and young mothers through creating saving circles and other activities, such as regular sports programs offered to women exclusively.Wake up Ugandan Children Foundation (WUCFo) was founded in 2013 in Kigungu, Uganda and is a not for profit organization, registered with the Ugandan NGO Bureau since 2018. Since 2020 we are also officially a registered association known as "Wake Up Ugandan Children e.V" in Germany.
