The birding and gorilla tracking safari in Uganda shall take you gorilla trekking in Bwindi and so productive bird watching in Ruhija at Mubwindi Swamp. Mubwindi Swamp at an elevation of 2,050m/6,725ft hosts astonishing birdlife.

Among other birds you can see are: the Dwarf Honeyguide, Stripe-breasted Tit, Ruwenzori Apalis and African Hill Babbler, the rare and localized Graurer's Scrub-warbler and Carruther's Cisticola, as well as the very difficult to see Fraser's Eagle-Owl.


Brief Itinerary

Day 01: Transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Sanctuary
Day 02: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Day 03: Transfer to Ruhija for birding
Day 04: Back to Kampala – End

Day 1: To Bwindi Gorilla Sanctuary

You will be picked up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala and transfer southwest. Lunch will be had en route at Agip Motel in Mbarara. Final transfer through beautiful terraced mountain scenery to the gorilla sanctuary of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Transit time 8 – 9 hrs.


Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Morning briefing by park ranger guides before beginning the Gorilla Tracking. After an hour with the gorillas, and picnic lunches in the forest, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead or Gorilla Forest Camp. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.


Day 3: To Ruhija

Morning transfer with picnic lunch to Mubwindi Swamp in Ruhija. The swamp at an elevation of 2,050m/6,725ft hosts astonishing birdlife.
