" I went here a little over 15 years ago and loved it. it was a great place has great views and beaches and tide pools. I especially loved the whales that were around at the time. I would really recommend this place to anyone that is going to stay in the area. I recommend visiting the local tide pools and beaches which the hostel can give you information about. Be aware that you should bring a jacket. It's by the beach but it can get cold at night. "

" Beautiful view. Close to many state beaches, and parks for hiking. I stayed 3 nights, and wished it was longer! "

" Beautiful location. Check-in early to get a good reservation at the hot tub. Rooms, bathroom and kitchen were clean. "

" Beautiful relaxing location, awesome tidepooling, good stargazing(they make an effort to reduce light pollution, but it can be cloudy). Hostel is fairly clean but the sheets were pretty worn. It can get crowded and bookings should be made well in advance, months if possible. Good hiking/exploring nearby, feels like living on the coast even though most could never afford to. Hot tub is neat, in a secluded perch on the cliff so no one can look in, must reserve a time. "

" One of the most amazing places in the west coast. The hostel was great and the surrounding context is breathtaking. "

" Stunning views at a grand location!! A must stop for photography and a picnic when traveling HWY 1.The coastal areas surrounding Pigeon Point Light Station are rich with life. Marine mammals, such as seals and whales that can be seen regularly from shore as they pass by beyond the surf. The inter tidal zone along this part of the coast, particularly in the rocky reefs that flank the light station, contains a diverse and numerous variety of plant and animal life.Pigeon Point Hostel is run by hosteling international for guests who are interested in staying overnight. " The accommodations are wonderful, very comfortable. We had a private room. Good kitchen. If you just want to hang at the lighthouse, this rates 5. The only drawback is that the grocery store is 20 miles away. Bring your groceries. The Button state Forest in s few miles away. The redwoods are magnificent. Towels for rent... Worth the 50 cents! " Location is unbeatable, and that's what would make me come back. Beautiful, tucked-away place and a quiet getaway right at the ocean.

HI feels more like a hotel with bunk beds. You are accomodated in one of the separate houses that all have their own community kitchen and living rooms. No activities offered to meet people from other houses. You're pretty much on your own regarding food, coffee, and socializing. Officially, there's no alcohol on the premises, but I don't think anyone really cares. I imagine the place to be pretty cramped when it's booked, there are not too many facilities and the rooms are rather small. "

" Staff was not very friendly. They do not state how far from any stores they are and I did not bring enough food so I almost starved there. Also when I was asking to get a ride to the store carpool I was told by management they were going to kick me out.....nice place to day visit but would not recomend staying also bathroom was stopped up and very dirtu "

" This is a must see on the Pacific Coast Highway. A beautiful lighthouse with a rich history, and a sad current status as it is succumbing to the elements and beginning to crumble. You have a gorgeous cliff view of the ocean that cannot be missed. Wonderful picture opportunities, as well as an opportunity to save a landmark! "

" This place is amazing! The lighthouse is great. The common rooms are filled with interesting things. And they have a hot tub right on the ocean! It's past the last building overlooking a sea cliff. Got to relax in it a warm clear night this spring. The stars were out with a crescent moon, the waves were crashing regular, and the company good :) "

" Absolutely hands down the best experience with an exemplary staff! Michael and Joe are so accommodating and concerned for your well being. The location is just lovely and the housekeeping performs a first rate job making you so relaxed ( I am extremely picky about cleanliness ). I stayed in the dorm which was very well appointed and only 33 dollars!! No need for a private room, really nice. Private rooms on the remote ocean run 500 dollars. Great value this Hostel. I highly recommend, especially if you love to meet new people. "
