" This used to be my favorite restaurant in La Jolla. I raved about it to my wife so she took me out to dinner here for a special occasion. Despite the fact that there were only four tables filled in the restaurant, the service was incredibly slow. Overall, the food was good but not as I remembered it to be. Perhaps the restaurant is under new management. The service between courses took an inordinate amount of time. In general, the service was highly inattentive. To top it all off, the restaurant was unable to process a credit card and the waiter behaved as though we were trying to pass him a bad check. I guess he liked my platinum AMEX better, I don't know. We were made to feel as though we were trying to skip out on a hefty bill. We contacted the credit card bank who informed us that no transactions had been attempted on the card. When we proffered that perhaps it was their terminal at the restaurant, we were told they've had no problems with other people's cards. My wife and I are both professionals and we understand and recognize good vs. atrocious service when we see it. The gap between my expectation and the reality of the experience at a restaurant has never been so vast as tonight's unacceptable encounter. We will be escalating this to the hotel management. "

" Don't kid yourself into thinking this is anything but a hotel restaurant. The service was not thrilling and the food was OK. The best review I saw noted "Full size prices for appetizer size meals". Very accurate.
I got the chilaquiles, and they were pretty tasty. However the serving size was fairly small. "
