Skertch

Skertch is a riotus performance forum and variety show! Basically, a crazy kind of immediate open mic!

An MC controls the show, keeps it moving, and offers anyone the speaking stick. Whom ever has the speaking stick has the right to the space and to perform. And with that they can do what ever they want; be it to put up a scene, recite a poem, sing a song, read a dramatic monologue, play an improv game, or even take a shit on the stage! But at Skertch we have a saying; "you can take a shit on stage, but you can't just shit on the stage". By which I mean to say, you can do whatever you want at this show, but you can't just come up and detract. You can tell us how shitty this show is, and how much my tits seem to keep growing, but you have to do it *artistically*.

We have an opening sketch and then we work within two 45 minute time slots, separated by a 15 minute intermission.

Normally we put up Skertch in a backyard or in a house. But sometimes we also put up Skertch in legitimate venues! More often then not, at Skertch you'll find good food, good drinks, and good people!

SO! Do you have some art you want to show case? Have you been looking for a venue to do some shouting in? Or do you just need a joint to drink at on a friday night? If you answered yes to any of these, or you want to come for another reason, DO IT. It'll be fun on the bun, and we'll laugh, and cry, and leak bodily fluids.
