Description

Elevation Lacrosse provides playing opportunities and high-quality instruction through leagues, clinics, and camps to youth and high school age athletes in the Boulder/Denver area. The highly experienced coaching staff strives to build skills while emphasizing character development through positive coaching.

In the summer of 2012, Elevation Lacrosse was born. Created by high school coach, Peter Devlin, Elevation Lacrosse is built on superior instruction and organization while upholding the highest ethical principles. In today’s world of youth and high school lacrosse, profit gain often drives a program’s motivation, while character development and the life lessons that sports teach are often lost. The lacrosse landscape is not what it used to be as the high-priced, high-pressure reality of youth and high-school lacrosse continues to grow and false promises of recruiting opportunities drive the machine. This is where Elevation Lacrosse is unique, offering value-driven programs with a strong moral foundation. Our goal is to help boys grow into great lacrosse players and great young men.....to elevate their game on and off the field.

Pete Devlin, Head Varsity Coach at Alexander Dawson School.
Raised in one of the country’s hotbeds of lacrosse, Westchester, NY, Devlin began playing lacrosse at age 8 and has been playing and coaching ever since. Coach Devlin spent his high school years in Raleigh, NC and was a standout athlete in lacrosse and football. After high school, he continued playing both sports at lacrosse powerhouse, Gettysburg College. Playing on the nation's top-ranked team, under legendary coach, Hank Janczyk (2nd all-time NCAA wins; 2x DIII Coach of the Year), Devlin competed in 2 NCAA lacrosse tournaments before moving to Colorado in 1999. He served as an assistant coach at Colorado College for 2 years, helping the team achieve national recognition in Division III lacrosse. In 2011 Devlin took over a 2-13 Dawson varsity team, and 5 years later led them to the 2015 4A state semi-finals, solidifying them as a championship contender. In 2013 Devlin was named the BoCo Preps Coach of the Year, and he currently serves on the Colorado High School Coach's Association Executive Committee. Along the way, Coach Devlin has coached hundreds of young athletes through numerous camps, clinics, and club teams, and continues to compete in various men’s leagues and tournaments. He has a BA in Communications from the University of Colorado, and a Masters degree in School Counseling from Colorado State University. He currently works at Dawson as the Associate Athletic Director and serves as the 7/8 grade Passageways teacher, teaching character education and helping students navigate the often difficult middle school years. He and his wife, Kate, spend much of their time with their 2-year old daughter Peyton, and enjoy skiing, biking, hiking, and spending time in the mountains.
