St. John Lutheran Preschool is the crown jewel of the parish's outreach ministry. Our preschool is well known and respected throughout the Meriden-Wallingford area.
It is the philosophy of St. John Lutheran Preschool that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, and discovery. Preschool age children are creative and receptive, and our staff strives to nurture and encourage these qualities. The purpose of this preschool is to provide an atmosphere that encourages our children to grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and intellectually. Guided by Christian values, St. John Lutheran Preschool’s curriculum includes: freeplay time, stories, songs and finger plays; creative art projects and crafts; games and large motor activities; food preparation; science and nature activities; exposure to shapes, colors, numbers, and letters; and basic Christian education, including prayers and songs.
St. John Lutheran Preschool is licensed by the state of Connecticut. Please see the General Information section for our preschool's class schedules.
St. John Lutheran Preschool is a parent co-op school. On a rotational basis, parents assist with class activities, and are asked to provide nutritional snacks for their assigned day.
