" I am going into my second term at Kaplan. While online schooling is very different from attending an actual campus, the experience is purely what you make of it. I have financial aid and I have not had any issues so far. College is for adults, and as an adult, your financial obligations are up to you, Kaplan just gives financial guidance. Also, I have called for various reasons and always been able to talk to someone. My advice is if you cannot handle being very responsible for your own schooling, maybe do not pick a school online. So far, Kaplan has been great to me, and I am grateful for that. "

" They don't care about their students, all they want is money. They lied to me about my loans, I was told by multiple staff member about everything being covered under my loans before scheduling classes. Next thing you know, I have a 2k balance. I stayed on top of it following up with the issue calling every week, was told it was an internal issue and the balanced was going to be cleared. They never cleared my balance, I kept calling back and they denied everything I was told. I spoke to 6 people in the same day for an issue that was never resolved and they were very rude. I requested to speak to a supervisor multiple times and they deny me the request over and over. If you ever call, record names or record conversations; or better of don't even enroll!

Courses are great, instructors are great and helpful. Instructors always were available and understanding.

" Kaplan is and will be what you make it. I have attended online schools/classes for the last ten years earning a AS,BS, MS and working on a PhD. ALL online classes and schools are expensive and require more work than on campus. It requires skills such as accountability, excellent time management, and be willing to sacrifice time and money to reach your goal. This is college, not high school. This is not for the individual who prefers lectures and constant interacting with classmates and the instructor. They let you know what is required as well as the deadline. For those who have attended college in the past, it is your responsibility to make sure that you have enough money that will cover the cost of your education and that also means making sure that you are not maxed out prematurely. This can be avoided by not accepting money that you will not need or banking those disbursement checks. Call and speak to FAFSA periodically. I actually think Kaplan does more hand holding than I require. There are a number of tools that are in place to help with education/career planning such as researching the requirements needed for your degree which also includes certification (for your state), cost, amount of time needed to commit to each class, tutoring, and the writing resource center. There are notations on their web site that advise you about accreditation for specific majors as well as your background. If you are not extremely proactive, ready to work hard and able to advocate for yourself, then maybe online learning is not for you. Everyone has different learning styles. "

" Financial Aid department is horrible. Customer service is rude, all they want is money. I felt as if I was a burden for my academic advisor to call or email me to sign up for classes. This University is too expensive, I would personally not recommend anyone to pursue their degree here. It took my academic advisor 2 weeks to get in touch with me about my classes and 3 weeks for my financial aid advisor to get in touch with me, and I'm sill not receiving any of my financial aid. I transfer to another university and so far a great experience. "

" SCAM!! Just google "Guerrilla Registration". All these people want is money. They don't care about you, your education, or your future. I realized this about halfway through the term I spent there. When I told my "advisor" I wanted to withdraw at the end of the term, she did everything she could to avoid speaking with me. Also, you pay them by the number of credit hours you take. At an actual school a class, like Anatomy and Physiology, would be around 3 credit hours. At Kaplan, a similar class is 5 credit hours. They do this so you have to pay them more. The classes are extremely easy and are obviously NOT worth 5 credit hours. The 10 month program I was in was going to cost me over $14,000. The program wasn't even properly accredited, so I would have never been able to get certified in my field. This program, at a properly accredited community college, costs around $4,000 TOTAL. I paid $4,000 for just one term (2 classes) at Kaplan. I advise anyone and everyone considering going here to just walk away. It's not worth it. It may sound nice that you "earn your 'degree'" completely online, but it's not likely a Kaplan University "degree" will get you into the career you're pursuing. Community colleges may also offer your program completely online, so try to look into them. If you're already at Kaplan, look for another school and withdraw at the end of the term. Make sure all communication with them is in writing, have them confirm that you have withdrawn, and check to be sure your status says "drop" instead of "active" so they can't keep you enrolled and charge you for classes you never took. It's really unfortunate that places like Kaplan University are allowed to exist. I never write reviews, but this is important. I don't want anyone to have their entire life destroyed because of this greed. "

" Your educational experience is what you make of it. I did not agree with everything about the school, but my education was paid for and I was not going to let it go to waste. Not all professors are the same and that is part of the higher level of thought is; to deal with others and set aside your bias views of what you perceive your education should encompass and actually educate your mind. " I am currently attending Kaplan and I am doing great maintaining a very high gpa BUT my main concern is not the teachers or the work of the seminars MY CONCERN AND COMPLAINT IS WITH THEE DINANCIAL DEPARTMENT it is ridiculous that I have to get in contact with them every single semester in regards to refunding me money that they consistently take from me they are constantly sending me emails that I owe them money that they have received through military funding. I honestly would have already transferred solely because of the financial department but I already have one semester left and I intend on getting my degree disputes the fact that the financial department is slow "

" FOR PROFIT ONLY SCHOOL!!!
This University is not in any way shape or form worth the time. here is my story as to how I hold a degree from them that I can never use. Over 20 years ago I made a bad choice that cost me still to this day. Enough of that said, before I joined Kaplan in 2013 I explained my back story in detail because of the field I want to go into I wanted to make sure I would be able to work and my history would not be in the way. I was assured in no way would this hinder me ( I have written proof). So I joined up, I had many issues with the money aspect of this and talk about added stress on top of keeping up in class. In my first term I again revisited the question to my adviser asking if this was a waste of time because I was really worried. I researched on the internet but found nothing and was told again it was fine. So long story short I graduated in July 2016 went to find a job and was told no. I went to my church employment to get help and talked with a specialist who deals with past hiccups and was told to seek legal advise because the degree I have will never be able to be used because of my past. Now people can point fingers and judge me for what I did over 20 years ago and say it was my fault but I would have never spent all this money and wasted my time on a paper weight for a degree I can never use if I was not lied to, mislead into thinking it was worth something. Please people beware of this school, they are all about the money and nothing about the students. "

" I love this school. You can attend classes online which means you don't have to actually read any of the material. You can use Google to find all the assignment answers. You don't even have to pay attention to the classes - just log in and go do something else. I got my Associates this way and now I'm working on my Bachelor Degree! "

" I am so far loving my time at Kaplan! Everyone is saying how horrible everyone is and I have not found that to be even a little bit true. The longest I have waited to hear back from someone is a weekend and I was assigned 2 people at the beginning of my journey who still remember my particular situation and everything about them is polite and kind and helpful. I have read about the trouble with financial aid but if anyone has done it before, financial aid is a mess at any college because its a complicated system but I haven't had trouble being told exactly what documents to submit and what to do for them. Miss 1 star because this is only the end of my first term but I'll change it in the future after more time spent towards my goals. Online Medical Assistant Certification degree plan. "
