" Came for lunch. Had seafood po boy that was outstanding. Bowl of World Famous Clam Chowder. They cant make the bowls big enough it is just SO GOOD. Getting our usual 1 gallon of chowder to go. Come the 60 + miles for day trip to come to Tony's. "

" Four stars for a really really good clam chowder. Whenever we're in Cedar Key we always stop at Tony's for a cup or bowl of there great clam chowder and you should to.

The rest of the menu is just OK. Usual sea food stuff. Crab cakes, fish sandwich, salads you know the usual suspects but the star of the show and the reason to go there is the clam chowder. "

" Best cup of chowder I've ever had (better than Boston). One of the best po' boy sandwiches. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is great. Not a lot of good food options on Cedar Key so this place gets busy but it's worth the wait. "

" I had a interesting experience at Tony's Seafood. The food tasted like it was cooked/fried with burnt oil. The crab cakes where small and a bit pricy. The food took a lot of time to come. also the location isn't that good. You would hear loud motor cycle sounds frequently. The hamburger had no taste at all, and the fries tasted odd.the waitress was very nice and welcoming.over all I would give this restaurant a one star but since the waitress was good it gets a two star. We are very disappointed by the food and experience. "

" Great food. Great atmosphere. Dining area is small so you might have to wait depending on the time of visit but it's worth the wait. I didn't try it but others in our party had the clam chowder and raved over it. They went back before we left Cedar Key and purchased cans of it to take home. You can also visit their website and purchase the clam chowder online. "

" Very good chowder. Most entres are shrimp based, but very good. The scallops and linguini was a little spicy, but well prepared. Nice small hole in the wall atmosphere. September, Friday night, not crowded. "

" Delicious food, atmosphere takes you back in time. We'll definitely take another weekend trip to Cedar Key just to get some more clam chowder. Praying they didn't get major damage from Hurricane Irma. "

" Hands down awesome clam chowder. It's got a bit of a spice to it so your little ones might not dig it, but it was perfect for the wife and I. Snatched off a star because the service was sub par. Never refilled our water glasses and took forever to bring the bill. Heard her apologizing to another table but the other waitress seemed on the ball. For an $8+ bowls of clam chowder I'd like some good service. "

" Best seafood I've ever had on the island. Been visiting Cedar Key for years don't know how I missed this place but it won't happen again. Scallops were fabulous and Tony s platter is a feast of fresh food masterfully prepared. Best clam chowder that I can remember and I'm from New England! "

" Best clam chowder on the planet.

Very friendly staff. We got takeout as we wanted to be back on our hotel balcony for the sunset and I think that may have affected our food quality. Fried clams were chewy, fish wasn't very flavorful either.

Next time, we'll make time to eat in and see how it fares. Regardless, I will be going back for the clam chowder. It was amazing. "

" Great food! My husband and I ordered a cup of the clam chowder to share with our sandwiches because it was a hot day and we didn't want full servings. I instantly regretted that decision as soon as I took a bite of the soup, because it was so delicious. I will be back to order a full bowl and eat it myself. "

" Small place and a little rough around the edges (think: missing light fixtures) but bristling with southern charm. Famous for clam chowder, it was indeed very good. Non-seafood dishes came across as an afterthought though, sadly enough. Worth a stop in. "

" Cozy space, excellent sangria and speedy service. It was crowded on a Friday night but food came quickly. We had the Tony's platter for two. The shrimp, fish and clams were excellent. It's a little pricey for the amount of food but it was good. "

" The clam chowder was AMAAAAAZING. :) I also had a salad (didn't care for the style of lettuce) with honey mustard and some french fries, which were pretty good. The total came to $19, I paid $23. Overall, a great experience, and I now know what world-famous clam chowder is supposed to taste like! The building itself was a bit small, about 11 tables inside one room, and there were a couple servers. It was small but cozy, the service was great, the food tasted wonderful, and the price was what I would expect it to be for a restaurant that has achieved its level of fame. "

" Well, when it's a restaurant you share a name with *and* it offers the best clam chowder in the world, it would be rude not to go! I'm no expert on chowder, I'll be honest, I've had it perhaps a couple times (it's not common in England), but there was certainly nothing wrong this - not too salty, as some people have mentioned, but lots of flavour.

However, for me, the hit was the dinner platter. A little bit of everything - clams, shrimps, fried fish. To my taste, the fried elements were perfect - a light batter, not the heavy breading I've found elsewhere. I think it's the most expensive item on the menu, but it was worth it.

The restaurant itself was informal, but the staff were friendly. A very enjoyable dinner! "

" Great chowder must try. We had the platter for two which was good but not huge for 2 people. Also has the shrimp trio another night big shrimp good taste. However if your going to Tony's chowder take the hint with there name and order the chowder you won't be disappointed!!! "

" Food was pretty good, server was great. The girl that waited on us was very nice and attentive. I had the blackened fish sandwich. A bit uneven with the seasoning, but overall tasty. Wife had the burger, which she said was good. They melted the cheese on just right. Mother had the burger as well. Father had a mixed seafood sandwich and was very happy with it. The child's chicken tenders were tasty as well, with a nice batter. The dining rooms aren't big, and there's often a wait. The dinner prices are high, and they only post a lunch menu out front, which can be a bit deceiving if you expect everything to be in that price range. "

" My husband & I stopped in for a cup of the Clam Chowder today based on the restaurant reviews. Totally agree with all the rave reviews.. Excellent clam chowder. Probably the best we have ever had. We both love clam chowder & have eaten it from Maine to Boston and many places in between. We bought several cans to take home. I can not speak to any other item on the menu, but the service was great and the historic building clean and picturesque. Highly recommend. "
