That’s right. Call me Mr.Spanky.

This nickname started with my childhood friends who thought I looked exactly like the boy Spanky in the Little Rascals. In fact, I still have this name today. While I wasn’t lucky enough to become a movie star, I did find my passion by working in my parents' restaurant as a child. Since then I’ve worked in kitchens around the world and I’ve been lucky enough to see food in all its glory. What I’ve found is that trends come and go, and times and generations change.

In 2005, I found an ad on Craigslist looking for an Executive Sous Chef for Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Two days later, I joined the show…and traveled the United States for almost three years. I even met my lovely wife along the way. In 2008 I returned to Chicago and after nearly 10 years of working with food, I finally went to culinary school to become a 'real' chef. In 2011, Mr.Spanky's was born.

At Mr.Spanky's, you’re not buying food from a factory. You’re buying food from a Chef who knows where every one of our ingredients comes from. We hand-select all of our ingredients from our purveyors—and we really do make everything by hand. We want people to realize that part of eating well means understanding what’s in your food, how it’s made and where it’s coming from.

At Mr.Spanky’s, we always do our best to put the integrity of our customers and our food first. We’re also extremely proud to support the Bridgeport community here in Chicago.
