" I live in the Los Angeles metro area. I purchased and took delivery of a 4RUNNER TRD Off-Road Pro from Crown Toyota down the road from the Baymont Inn & Suites in Lawrence, KS. My wife booked this hotel for me because it was the cheapest place she could find, and she was upset with me because I was spending money to fly all the way to Kansas to buy a truck. I couldn’t argue because good husbands don’t argue with good wives when they are “taking care” of you like this. That said, I was prepared for a rough night in an inexpensive hotel. To my surprise this is a VERY nice place for the price. Everything is spotlessly clean and fresh. The carpets seem new. I was very comfortable and slept very well. I enjoyed a solid free breakfast compliments of the Baymont and then had a great time driving my new Toyota back to LA. "

" Rooms are decent, bathrooms are small. You can tell they used to allow smoking in the rooms. They still smell like smoke. If you're sensitive to the smell, don't stay here. Decent quality for a good price. "

" I'm not sure how this hotel is rated almost 4/5 stars to be quite honest. I'm generously giving it 3/5 stars purely based off the friendly staff and the fact that the bed was at least comfortable. I understand this hotel is on the cheaper side - I was not expecting anything fancy at this price point - but it seems basic maintenance has been overlooked here for quite some time. The hallway carpets were dirty, corners/areas around the vent had spider webs/dirt in the room, our window didn't close all the way, the a/c unit sounded like it was on it's last life, the pool looked like it had a film on the top of it, ice machine on 3rd floor was broken, and the room had a weird odor to it. Like I said, I know this hotel is on the cheaper side but the issues I saw seemed to be due to a neglect of basic maintenance. "

" Best day-n-night staff I've had in a long time. Very nice and very respectable. And breakfast was a 5 star as well. You have a wonderful team, treat them as such, cause they deserve it. "

" The staff was nice and the lobby was nice, but other than that I disliked it. The pool was tiny and freezing. It's only redeeming quality was its cleanliness and the salt water over chlorine decision. The "hot tub" was more of a "warm tub". The elevator was creepy and a little scary because it creaked and thumped when you rode it. We killed a centipede in our room and had to ask for more pillows AND towels because it makes sense that a room with four people only needs three bath towels. The toilet ran almost constantly (which is an easy fix, come on people) and the shower lacked any water pressure and was obviously made for very short people. The alarm clock tried to blind us at night, but at least there was no road noise or loud neighbors. I had high hopes for breakfast but discovered, instead, stale cereals and shortages on milk and prep spray for the waffle maker. We booked it because it was rated 4 stars. I would barely consider 2 stars. Barely. The only things saving it from 1 star from me is the nice staff and lack of bed bugs. "
