" Play It Again Sports might be the best sports equipment store in the Johnson County area. The reasons why are simple: excellent and knowledgeable customer service, wide and diverse product selection, and lower prices than its competitors.
Play It Again has just expanded, acquiring the store next door, tearing down the wall between, and practically doubling its space.
I remember going into Play It Again on 87th with my dad when I was a kid, and wow, this store is nice!
If you’re not a person who needs brand new, expensive products, then check this store out.
I coach 1st and 2nd grade soccer, and I took pictures of soccer cleats to send out to the parents. The kids grow like weeds, so finding a pair of $20 cleats can be such a saving grace.
Plus, good news, the owner, Bob, is considering expanding hours! "

" Recently purchased a treadmill for my use after an upcoming medical procedure. The owner Bob worked with me on logistics and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Have shopped at this location in the past for other exercise equipment, and have found staff to be friendly and and helpful as well. Once I recover, plan to visit to check out all their golf clubs and bags! "

" Great place to buy and sell pre-owned sporting equipment. I've found brand new bats and golf clubs for hundreds less than new. Prices are similar to what you'd find on ebay, or other pre-owned sites. "

" Shopping for a left-handed set of boys golf clubs 3.5 wks before Christmas, I received very friendly service. They had three priced from $80 - $150. I paid $10-20 more than I had planned or hoped, and the condition of the clubs was rougher than I expected (having already had two right-handed young golfers). All considered, I also know how prices for all goods and services have increased, so I'm thankful that found a selection at all.
I have a week to change my mind on the purchase, for a return with the store credit. I can also sell the clubs back at half price when my youngster needs to upgrade in club length.
Overall I am happy with the purchase and we will gladly return for other purchases. "

" Little bit of my experience.
I went in looking for a helmet for a semi pro football team. I have a smaller head size and I'm a little picky on some of my gear.
I used to have a friend who helped the owner, Bob, run the store. Walking in after not being in KC for the last 6 years.. it was like walking back into a familiar shop you could sit around and talk sports before the wife calls you to get back home.
Staff seems a little new, but too be expected with the holiday season coming up. They are still just as friendly as they were in 2015.
I tried to beat Bob up over the helmet price. He was very stuck on it. After going back and doing some more research, I came to the conclusion the extra 30 bucks I'd spend with a small business would be worth the comfort of knowing I got a quality product. I found a few cheaper on marketplace, but no one seemed to have any answered when I asked them about condition and use.
I actually sent my friend back up to grab the lid for me. Bob helped her find it, made sure she was taken care of and even brightened up her day with a joke.
If you haven't been in, make the trip, even if you don't find anything it's worth the time to just relive your past glory. "
