One of the last remaining independently owned, as well as underground, theaters in the world, Towne Cinema was West Liberty's only source for Hollywood blockbuster entertainment! Opening on Thanksgiving Eve in 1972, Towne Cinema continued to bring the best that Hollywood had to offer, keeping the ticket and concession prices low and maintaining a warm, friendly safe environment for all who walked through the doors and down the stairs until March 2nd, 2012, when an EF3 destroyed it and 90% of the businesses and government offices in West Liberty, Kentucky.
