This is an exciting program offered currently through the Clark County Public Library that pairs creative kids with professional artists. Our goal this summer is to create a real illustrated kids book! We are asking kids primarily ages 8-12 to let their imagination run wild in creating a story that real cartoonists will interpret for the book. The kids are behind the wheel and they are taking the story into wild places!

This program is designed to provide an outlet for artistic and creative children in Clark County and also to serve as an educational and mentoring program for kids who have expressed an interest in pursuing the arts as a career. We want to show that anything is possible if they have enough passion.

In addition, this effort is also a fundraising initiative for an organization called Partners in Education: a nonprofit organization in Clark County that matches children with adult mentors to help further their education. Finally, this program has been completely funded through a generous grant through The Greater Clark Foundation. This project has been awarded the "What's Your Ambition?!" grant for 2014. Because of the generosity of this grant, around 30 children in this area will be able to take part in a unique, one-of-a-kind opportunity to see their imagination come to life and to gain insight into the exciting world of professional creativity.
