I remember the day I joined Mary Kay because before I was approached by my recruiter I was in a bad place. I had just lost someone really close to me, exhausted all my resources, and was ready to throw in the towel. I literally prayed the morning I meet my recruiter, Jennifer Hoogdorp (love you Jen!), at her church's youth night where we performed. Everything this girl spoke into me was exactly what I had asked God to do - but being EXTREMELY analytical and a skeptic, I needed more proof. One of the signs was picking up the book I was reading, Failing Forward by John C. Maxwell, and picking up where I had left off at "Putting a New Face on Obstacles." The story of Mary Kay Ash. If that was not enough, God soothed my fear of not having clients that morning at church when I got approached about what makeup I was wearing - AND I DIDN'T HAVE ON ANY. So, I stepped out on faith, and went in to meet the Future P.O.W.E.R. National Area. I truly respect and adore my unit members and director, Future National Keita Powell. I have grown professionally, spiritually, and emotionally. I am so proud to represent a company with the mission of enriching women's (and men's - we have our first male consultant and a men's line) lives through personal development, green initiatives, helping women who endured domestic abuse and a charity to help women battle cancer! I am proud of who I am, and of my unit (Love you Deitra, Kim, Lish, all you guys) which is a powerful sisterhood of God-fearing women. And as Jen always says, "God is still in the blessing business!"
