2 stars for the entrance by the ymca. this is because it sucks if you have a paper ticket. there are also only two inside fare entrances to get to the train. one of them usually always doesn't work and only accept charlie card. so, good luck to you if you own a paper fare ticket if that other fare entrance doesn't work. there as plenty of times when i own a paper monthly pass but could not use it and need to make my exit out, wasting my time to walk back up on the stairs to go to the other tufts station entrance by the hospital. there is also always no mbta employee when you need help at the ymca entrance. there is also only 3 fare machines. one is card only/no cash. sometimes, the other two machine doesn't even work too. so, also, good luck to you again if you have no cash.
another down thing about this is that ppl never pay their fares and they don't enforce that rule because there's no mbta employee working there at all. it really annoys me that someone is entering right behind me and i'm paying for them.
as for the other entrance by the hospital, you will need to walk down the stairs or take the elevator to get inside. not bad. this entrance is much bigger. sometimes there will be an employee sitting inside his/her booth but not always. they can be a hit or a miss too. sometimes, i see them helping someone nicely. sometimes, i see them being annoyed because the customer doesn't understand english.
this place gets 3 stars because it is clean. i always see someone sweeping in the morning and they're friendly workers. i like them. "
