The Cultura Collective, formed in late 2015, is a group of Grand Rapids-based artists and creatives of all ages, from street artists to academics, who came together to create a space for people of color to convene and create beyond the existing and expected framework of the contemporary art world. In 2016, the Collective participated in ArtPrize 8 with an installation at 912 Grandville that received the juried Installation Award from Deana Haggag, and shared the honor of Outstanding Venue. Cultura Collective members include George Eberhardt, Gerardo Flores, David Frison, Yesenia Gomez, Noemi Gonzalez, Javier Jauregui, Jovan Naves, Nancy Quero, Colby Roanhorse, Steffanie Rosalez, Alejandro Ruiz Jr., and Javier Torres.
