This recent Scholastic poll, reported by Education Week, confirmed what most teachers suspected, students are not reading over the summer. Students from low-income communities experience, on average, a two-month loss in reading during the summer as compared to their more affluent peers.

📊 A number of studies were conducted between 2014 and 2017 and the data shows that Read to Lead® consistently produces impressive gains among the most struggling readers which can help combat the “summer slide”!

So what can be done to reduce reading loss over summer break? We explore in this week's blog post, "Reading Challenges to Combat Summer Slide"!
