" A very nice patisserie outside of Manhattan. I purchased macarons and a couple of pastries for a party.
Why did I take away one star? When I went to pay my credit card didn't work; long story short it was a security hold on the card that was later resolved.
The woman checking me out announced loudly that my card was declined. It was not only embarrassing but I was wondering why on earth my card wouldn't work. I used another card to pay but I don't think the whole store and its customers had to know that my card was not working.
Years ago I worked as a cashier in high school and whenever a customers card was declined I would let them know very quietly and or show them the receipt. I think it's the polite thing to do. "
