They use high-quality ingedients for their dishes that are flawless and my mouth is watering just remembering my meal!!! This is a little gem tucked away in the quaint village of Sharing Springs. " Have stayed at the American several times in the last several years. Never disappointed. Garth and Doug (or Doug and Garth), the proprietors are delightful. This quaint little town in upstate is off the beaten path, but beat a path there, if you can. Great food in the dining room (not inexpensive, nor should it be given it's excellence). Nice breakfast service for Hotel guests. Rooms are smallish, but comfortable, clean and historic. George, the bartender, is an entertainer. This is a perfect place for Glimmerglass Opera goers, autumn leave viewers and anyone who loves upstate. The best! "
