It is with deliberation and great sorrow that we officially announce that we will not be able to rebuild at our previous location. All attempts to purchase the property have failed. After negotiations with the landlord over insurance settlements and legal obligations there simply isn't enough money to do it right, and it is clear that if we are to rebuild it must be on property that we own. Another factor in our consideration is that there is no possible way to recreate the exact environment that we all grew to love. Doyle's lives on in all of us. The customers and employees are what made it so wonderful.
Let us remember Doyle's as the greatest restaurant and hang out spot this town has ever seen.
Thank you Murphy for 15 wonderful years of turning customers into friends.

This Go Fund Me page is working well, and So are our staff members. Here's an update on what your generous donations have contributed to:
Jesse has begun working with the trail crew at Piney Knob bike trails as well as beginning the cleanup process at Doyle's... Tonya and Shawn have connected with the Hiawassee Watershed coalition and begun their volunteer hours, they started yesterday. Heather, Joann, Caitlin have already started at the Valley River Humane society walking dogs and cleaning kennels Les started this morning at the food pantry at the Methodist Church. Kara volunteered at the Chamber of commerce yesterday and will continue to be available for them. Other work available to them include the slow and tedious process of cleaning up the debris at the Restaurant.
Nathan has gotten a full time Job at Cell Plus Joann and Mellissa have also picked up positions at Shoebooties cafe Thank you all again for your incredible support.

We need something to do! So, we've got quite a few incredible people with a lot of free time on their hands. Doyle's is continuing to pay their employees for as long as possible, but we see it only fit that that money be earned by giving back to the community. We need feedback from the community of what we can help with. Cleaning, labor, firewood, driving people around, anything you can think of. The past 24 hours have been a whirlwind of emotions and disbelief. We are deeply humbled by the outpouring of support from the community. Thank you all for your well wishes and love.
We are still in shock and not sure what will happen next, but we will keep you posted as things develop.
You may not know that we did not own the building so ultimately the rebuild will be up to our landlord. The initial conversation about this was positive. And we, just like the rest of y...ou hope and pray that this is an option.
A big concern for everyone is what will our employees do. Please know that our employees will be supported during this for as long as possible. Luckily our payroll has been printed at Turner and Company in town, so we still have the means to pay them for as long as necessary.
Again I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming responses and offers for help.
