" Update - Attorney Johnson Britt from Lumberton tried my case last week and the jurors returned after deliberating only 15 minutes with NOT GUILTY ON ALL CHARGES. Johnson Britt is the man!! Just to state the facts, Kevin was hired to defend my son after we had had one trial that ended in a mistrial. We knew the DA's office would be offering a plea deal and we knew about what that would be. We were very clear with Kevin that we were not interested in a plea. He took my $15k, claiming he was such a tough defense attorney. My husband's statement to Kevin in our first face to face meeting - "We're looking for someone that's not afraid to take off the gloves and fight bare knuckles." Eleven days later, he had one conversation with the ADA and from that point forward, he literally did nothing but push a plea deal. Something that should have been a 15 minute conversation, he spent a month and a half on. His words were pretty close to "Let me go through my process. I do this with all of my clients. I'll put it in writing so you can review it." It got so ridiculous that I finally asked him if he was working for the DA's office. He did not like being questioned or me not agreeing with him and was very condescending to me because of it. I finally had to hire another attorney. He returned $10k and feels that he earned $5k by pursuing the one thing that we told him repeatedly that we were not interested in. I will be filing a fee dispute with the NC Bar Association. After the case is complete, I'll update with the final results by the new defense attorney who's position is that no crime was committed. "

" This is by far the best attorney’s office that you could ever find. They are extremely professional, honest, understanding and caring. Attorney Powers treat you as if you were her child when it comes to fighting for you. I was charged with a drug charge that I really didn’t commit but the state wanted to charge someone and attorney Powers went to bat for me and was very aggressive and didn’t play any games with them folks. She knows what she is doing and does it with all the confidence in the world. Her assistants are very helpful and always answers my calls and emails. Especially Sabina! They are all family and I would highly recommend them for anything especially a drug case! "
