" The advisers should stop pressuring students to take more classes on top of what they're already taking. So many students complain about their class load on top of everything else. I personally have had my adviser pressure me in to classes I didn't need or want that they thought would be best for me. Some of the instructors there are great but some of them are on a high horse. Like come on you teachers teach at a community college I understand you went to school but you push students too hard with the amount of work you give, like they don't have other classes and work and home life. Then the school wonders why the enrollment rates are down. There are instructors there that understand and know that students have things going on then there are instructors who don't care about their students or the amount of stress they may be under. I'm not discrediting all advisers and instructors there are some good ones there but the bad ones ruin it for everyone and gives them all a bad reputation. The Starbucks on campus the staff yells inappropriate things.. It just makes me happy thinking about being done here. The only reason I am staying is because the amount of time, effort, and money I have put towards my Associates here. If anyone asks me if I would recommend they go to LCCC, I'd tell them No! Thanks for the worst experience of starting off at a community college.. Maybe get your stuff together and LISTEN TO STUDENTS!! If there were no students there wouldn't be a school so you would think that you'd listen to what we have to say. "

" It's a nice school, but you know what's really fantastic? Their Cafeteria burgers, trust me. "

" I love this college has so much to offer being a community college. Great professors, clean campus. Food service is great too.
Rope course is awesome. "

" An inexpensive and decent place for high-school students looking to get ahead in their studies or for working adults to get a degree. Like all places of higher education, professors and instructors vary in terms of how much effort and zeal they bring to the classroom.

It's sad however, to see so many staff and faculty with innovative and exciting ideas that are meant to rejuvenate the college being consistently shut down due to "lack of resources". "

" I've had a couple teachers not really care that I was having a rough pregnancy but for the most part the teachers helped me out and gave me extra time to finish some work. I love the criminal justice advisor James M. He makes sure you are staying on the right path to graduate. Going from a D2 college and coming home to community college I felt awful but after being her for two years, I LOVE IT! of coarse you get a couple unreasonable teachers and a couple rude people here and there but not everyone that works is going to be nice. " The only up side is the pizza bar.
I went for two years on a Trustee scholarship. The financial office acted as if they had never seen such a thing and charged me for fees which should have been covered under the scholarship. When I asked about this, they said oh never, you don't have to pay it, but then they wouldn't let me register for classes until it was paid.
The advisors and counselors are worthless. Even though they assure you that every credit will transfer, credits do NOT transfer.
Essentially, I wasted two years of my life there. Do not make the same mistake as me. "

" Lorain County Community College has many degree and certificate programs to choose from. Plan sheets are available throughout the campus. Assessment testing will help you to determine if you are ready. The key for me was to find a plan and stick with it. The atmosphere was nothing like my high school, and I loved it. I found a great job in my field even before graduating. Later, I was able to transfer my entire two-year degree into one of the University Partnership programs. I started as a third-year student, and completed my bachelor's degree while working full-time and raising a family, without having to leave the county. Once I had a goal, counselors, advisors, faculty members, tutors, staff and even fellow students helped me to reach it! "
