Description

Brigid's Path was founded with one idea in mind: to specialize in caring for newborns suffering from Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).

NAS is a growing concern, where babies are born with a group of problems while withdrawing from pre-birth exposure to narcotics.

With this one idea in mind, Brigid's Path was created, and is centered around four Core Values:

We believe that each baby’s life has value and each deserves the very best treatment by our staff, volunteers, and visitors.

We believe in the strength of families and that families can, and do, contribute to the successful treatment of our patients.

We believe that all people are worthy of our respect.

And, we believe in a collaborative approach to providing patient-centered care.

Brigid's Path will:
• Provide short-term, inpatient care in a home-like setting for newborns suffering from prenatal drug exposure.

• Utilize the latest therapeutic techniques combined with pharmacological approaches to provide compassionate recovery for all patients.

• Partner with community organizations to assist families and promote wellness.

• Relieve the financial burden on Ohio taxpayers by operating at a fraction of hospital costs.

We spent a wonderful day in Washington DC celebrating an amazing woman, Sara Carter @scarterdc . She received the HIDTA Directors' Award for Not In Vein. Sarah has spent endless hours fighting the drug epidemic. Her voice is changing lives. Our very own, Ashley Evans, spoke at the event talking about how Sara had impacted her life. Joe Weasel, Executive Director of Full Story Foundation was also honored for directing the documentary. We had the honor to meet and speak with James Carroll, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
