" I was on my way to pick up pizza for dinner and got partway there, the next thing I know I'm on my back in St. Mary's Trauma Center and a guy is cutting my clothes off of me and telling me what's happening and asking me questions. I think I was fading in and out of consciousness, but remember giving our home phone number and his telling me I was T-boned at a red light and had 4 broken ribs and broken collar bone. My husband arrived in what I thought was minutes, but come to find out was an hour or so. We do not live close to St. Mary's.
I was in the hospital for over a week and in that time hubby secured a lawyer, Fetterman and Associates, now Fetterman Law. Turned out my car, a Hyundai Accent, was totaled and everyone was surprised and very glad that I survived. Thank God I don't remember the accident, it was horrific and I still find it difficult to look at the pictures.
Anyway, I'm alive, took me a good 4 months to fully recover and am driving a new Hyundai Tucson SEL Hybrid. Not many realize Hyundai are among the safest vehicles on the road, I'm living proof of that.
Corei Jacobs was my Case Manager at Fetterman. She was thorough, professional and compassionate the entire time my case was active. She took care of EVERYTHING! All I did was forward any bills or correspondence to her that I received from ANYONE concerning the accident and it was taken care of. Everything was done by phone, text and email. It was a tremendous relief and burden lifted, I could concentrate on healing, which was a lot in itself, starting with walking and breathing! Both were a struggle.
I gradually got stronger and my left arm finally shed the sling with the Orthopedic Doctors help.
It's now 7 months after the accident and the settlement was last week. If it's one thing I learned it's this, don't decline the uninsured motorist coverage on your car insurance! Although my settlement was modest and not as much as I had hoped for, my out of pocket bills were infinitesimal, everything was handled for me and the only thing i had to do was get better. Fetterman took care of everything! It was a comfort and relief knowing they were there for me.
My husband chose Fetterman Law as we both grew up here and the name was very familiar to us, so that is who he picked.
Everyone we spoke or delt with was helpful and professional, they also seemed to care!
Now that it's finally over, Fetterman helped turn a critically bad situation into one I could deal with, work through and recover from and even put a little cash in the bank. Had I included the uninsured motorist coverage on my insurance it could have been a LOT more cash in the bank! Live and learn.
Thank you Fetterman Law and specifically Cori Jacobs, who after dealing with for 7 months, finally got to meet in person. That was a great moment! "
