" I did not stay there even though we went there to check in . My wife made a reservation for September 8th and 9th . I was there when she was talking to a man making the reservation . She told him we were coming for the car show and couldn't find a place in Watkins Glen . He assured her it was only a 15 minute straight shot away . He made a mistake and booked us for August 8th and 9th instead . We were charged for not showing up, so when we did show up , they were not expecting us . They only communicate by text . He sent a screen shot of the reservation which was for August 8 and told my wife it was her fault basically because she didn't read it carefully. Even though he had a room he would not admit his mistake and make it right , he planned to charge us again if we wanted to stay , which we did not .As a business owner myself I found this to be a very unsavory act on his part. He booked it wrong and she did not read her confirmation and catch his mistake , but he refused to make it right . "

Our attempts to reach the contact number went unanswered, yet a text message to the owner yielded a swift response with a new code, resolving the issue. This incident, though initially concerning due to my accompanying family, was promptly resolved, reassuring us.
It's important to note that the property is managed remotely by the owner. While there's an on-site office, visits are based on a schedule. For any concerns, messaging the owner suffices, as they are quick to address any matters. The rooms, including the bathrooms, were impeccably clean. My wife particularly appreciated the comfort of the bed. The inclusion of numerous books for guests is a rarity in today's hotels, and the antique furniture adds a charming touch. Comprehensive instructions, such as the guest Wi-Fi details, are conveniently placed behind the door. Private parking right in front of your room is reserved, and the rooms are exceptionally tranquil, offering a serene atmosphere. The picturesque lake view from the window enhances the appeal.
The owner and Pat both proved to be welcoming and supportive. Should you require early check-in, it's possible for an additional fee of $25 per hour. The exterior features a plethora of chairs for guests to enjoy the view, sip coffee, and even plan a barbecue or fire pit session at night.
We are eager to return to this peaceful and delightful place. The motel setup exudes an old-school charm, enriched by the use of modern management techniques. "

" We had such an amazing stay at this hotel! The rooms are incredibly quiet and peaceful. The view from the sliding doors is spectacular, of the lake and the beautiful hill. This place was also extremely clean, like unusually so for any hotel, at a high level that showed they care for their property and love it. It had a ton of personal touches. The owner was also so friendly. We plan to come back. Finally, it was great value!! For couples, this place is also really romantic! "

" A lovely place to stay! The owner, Pat, was very polite. The rooms are clean and cute, with books on the bed and sounds of nature playing through the TV. The view is beautiful and the backyard has a fire pit that they supple wood for. They left a list of places to eat in the area. The extra effort was lovely and makes the place that much better. We will be staying again and recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet get away in wine country . Cheers! "
