" I actually really like them. THEY DO AMAZING WORK! But they rubbed me the wrong way on 1/13/24. My hair is short and is long enough to braid to begin with. My hair has grown since the last time I’ve been there. They told me my hair wasn’t long enough and want to charge me an extra 20$. When in reality the lady that did my hair the first time wasn’t there and the ladies that were there I felt like they couldn’t grip my hair like she would have. And instead of telling me that they decided to charge me an extra 20$ to attempt to do it. I said okay but then felt uncomfortable so I decided to leave. Also side note I made a post on Facebook asking “who can braid my hair” and included a pic, I got a million responses saying they could and would be able to grip it. Maybe it was God redirecting me somewhere else. Other than that, they do good work! "

" I will never return horrible customer service! Very ruff with my head complaining the whole time about her fingers telling me u can’t fix my braid that was too big! If u don’t like your job quit! Don’t complain to someone coming to get there hair done! If u look in the pictures u can tell which braid needed to be redone! "

" They get a star because the braids actually look decent. Otherwise, they'd get no stars. The owner will gladly tell you to come on in and that's her lure for her terrible staff. Got there around 3:30pm and left around 8:40pm. Medium knotless turned into more of small knotless. The woman who blowdryed my hair was unnecessarily rough and pulled and tugged my hair out thus making my scalp very tender. From there, I got about 30 minutes of braiding before the woman who just pulled my hair out stopped braiding my hair and tended to another client. Another woman took her place and I got about 10 minutes out of her before she took an hour or more long lunch and nobody was braiding my hair at all. The shop is hot and the air is stagnant. Beware that the only form of payment accepted is cash or Cashapp. The owner also has no problem charging you extra money to cover the cost of Cashapp transfer fee so it hits her account with no wait time. New to the area and never going back to this shop let alone recommending it. Find somewhere else to spend your money. Very poor experience all around. "

" My fiance, myself and our 10 yr. old son just moved out to Kentucky from up North. She tried a hair salon in Lexington that messed her hair up bad. Thank God for "Smart Braids"! They took her in as an emergency to fix the bad mistakes. They took her locks she got and gave her all new box braids within 3 hours. We highly recommend them if you are looking for professional people with great attitudes. Thanks again Smart Braids! We found our place for braids for now on! "

" I got crochet hair and they did a horrible job. Braids was showing everywhere do not go to them for crochet hair. I will have to take down and redo on my own. So, so mad. She told me to come back in and they will fix it. No thank you it is no fixing it I wanted my money back. Pictures are right after I got home. "
