" The staff are great at Focus! I've worked with several of the therapists there and Chase was my main therapist. All of them showed great care and an interest in my health and getting me back to a pain free state. They were open to suggestions and about half way through I made a suggestion that we shift the focus from one part of my body to another. They then created a plan to work on both the new part as well as keeping up with the part that I originally came in for. Would recommend a million times! "

" First of all, I can't say enough good things about Focus Physical Therapy & Fitness without boring readers to tears! I have been coming to Focus for 2 years off & on, for various treatments and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have had chronic dislocation in my shoulders over the last 25 years, along with 4 surgeries on both shoulders. I have had to visit several physical therapy treatment facilities in 3 different states over the years and Focus Physical Therapy & Fitness is by far the best!
In January 2014, I was slated to have yet another surgery and went to Focus to strengthen my shoulder beforehand. It turns out that my shoulder pain was caused by many factors, as well as things I was doing incorrectly in my everyday life – how I worked on my computer & where, the actual way I was sitting in my desk chair and how my computer & monitor were positioned. After modifying my work area, and teaching me the correct posture for my shoulders & neck, not to mention my entire body, and building up my upper body strength, I am so happy to report that I was completely able to avoid surgery!! Another huge benefit was that my chronic headaches also went away - for good!! I used to have to take at least 6 - 8 ibuprofen each day just to make my headaches bearable. Everything was caused by inherent weakness in my upper body, which made me over-compensate, causing all of my headache & shoulder problems. Focus Physical Therapy & Fitness therapists have been the only ones to not only alleviate, but solve my chronic pain after all these years. I still have to be careful, but now I know what I need to do.
What I love most about Focus, besides every one of the therapists and staff, is that the therapists have a low therapist/patient ratio, which really helps in that they are able to work with you the entire duration of your treatment to make sure you're doing your exercises correctly. The therapists are exceptional in showing you how to prevent re-injury by making sure that you understand correct balance, proper posture, etc. and why it's all so important. Over the past 2 years, I have had the pleasure to work with Matt Walker, Mike Fetterman, and Chase Tucker, as well as many interns. I think it's great that Focus provides internships, providing valuable hands-on learning experiences for the students. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but it seems like most of the interns have come back to work at Focus once they finish their degrees, which says a lot about this company.
I am also proud to say that after another stint at Focus for tennis elbow (non-tennis playing, of course!), I have now joined their Fitness program. It's been amazing! The therapists are able to work with you and tailor the workouts around your physical problem areas, as well as the problem areas that you want to get rid of! They are able to watch you to make sure you have proper form and can step in when they see something that needs slight correction. Focus Fitness is very inexpensive for the personal attention and "FOCUS" that you receive. You couldn't hire a personal trainer for what they charge.
I am so happy with Focus Physical Therapy & Fitness - they are my friends, if not a part of my family! I have recommended them not only to my friends, but even to my doctors. Focus Physical Therapy & Fitness is truly a gem in Lake Wylie. I owe them my health! "
