About University of Utah Hospital Critical Care Internship Program
The Critical Care Internship (CCI) has been a part of the University of Utah Critical Care service line for over 15 years.
The Critical Care Internship (CCI) has been a part of the University of Utah Critical Care service line for over 15 years. The program provides didactic and clinically supervised experiences, which will transition the nurse intern into the role of an adult critical care practitioner. As a program we look for applicants with strong skills in the following areas:
•Critical thinking
•Communication
•Teamwork
•Self-motivation
Through intensive didactic course work, precepted clinical shifts, and mentoring, the CCI has become an important part of the ICU culture here at the University of Utah. You will find an abundance of alumni thought the service line as well as in other areas around the hospital. This program has the goal of creating top-of-the-line ICU nurses. It is an expectation that graduates will have an increased knowledge base in all critical care areas, enhanced critical thinking abilities, and the clinical skills to be a successful ICU nurse.
