It starts with Chef Lauren Forsythe….
Chef Lauren caught the food bug early on, but it took a while to find her own ascetic. French Culinary Arts trained, she did her studying at Le Cordon Bleu. From there she went on to running kitchens in several cities, finding passion in a wide variety of cuisine and technique.
After spending most of her free time at farmers markets, picking out the freshest of what’s local, to than take home to create chef inspired meals for her family and friends, Chef Lauren figured it out….her brand! It was there all along, her love for simple comfort foods, a dash of bold flavors, and the best of local seasonal product. This was her very own personal recipe!
Now with that came Taste of Local. All locally grown, chef inspired foods. Chef Lauren has now built relationships with many farmers and local venders so that she now only cooks with local produce, meats, dairy, and fresh locally baked breads. Keeping that ascetic has become more than a motto, but a lifestyle, so that Chef Lauren Forsythe can truly become your “Local Chef”.

Taste of local has several company projects all that value that same "farm fresh" aesthetic. Some such as:

-Taste of Local on wheels
That's right, we got a truck!!! Taste of local partners up with Angelic Beef to bring you gourmet style lean Burgers, Hot beef sandwiches with balsamic glazed onions and horseradish aoli, soup,cheese stuffed meatball sliders, and more.

-Local's Sauces and marinades
A multi use Marinara,Va grown Tomatoes, onions, garlic, and herbs stewed together to create a bold multi-use marinara, a zesty Chimichurri Sauce (perfect for grilling chicken or steak), a Spinach Basil Pesto, Sundried Tomato Pesto, and a Tomato Bruschetta all created by Chef Lauren Forsythe. The Jars come with recipes that change seasonally to help jump start your next culinary endeavor


-Little Locals
Locally grown produce transformed into a healthy and flavor inspired first steps in raising your "little Foodie" all brought to you by Chef Lauren Forsythe

-Local Slice
A pre-made uncooked pizza, sauced with Taste of Local's signature multi-use marinara and topped with only the best of what Virginia has to offer.
