A-L-M, Inc. was founded by Si Arnold, Charlie LaBarge, and Frank Meara in 1964. The Company started business in a 2,000 sq. ft combined office/warehouse located on a central alley in St. Louis, MO. As a service-oriented Company, growth was rapid, and in 1968 the Company acquired Ozark Rubber Company. This, coupled with appointment as a franchised B.F. Goodrich distributor, necessitated a move to larger quarters.
In early 1969, the Company moved to 1216 S. Vandeventer, giving the Company 12,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and office space. New equipment was purchased and the Company's fabricating department was expanded. The economy was fast paced and the Company continued its growth.
In 1975, the Company again grew out of its quarters and began looking for a new facility. In November 1976, the Company moved to 1058 S. Vandeventer where it occupied 32,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space to better serve its customers. The Company finally expanded to 45,000 sq. ft. at the Vandeventer location.
Today, A-L-M, Inc. occupies industrial warehouse and fabrication space for its custom belting, hose, and parts fabrication business.
