We envision Little Saigon San Diego as a vibrant center of culture, commerce and community engagement, where our people are fully represented as equals and our citizens fully exercise their democratic rights.
Our mission is to counter the forces that keep our people under-represented by revitalizing our local community and providing services for the residents of the Little Saigon District of San Diego.
The Little Saigon Foundation started in early 2008 with a mission to revitalize the densely populated Vietnamese business district of El Cajon Boulevard. Over thirty years ago many Vietnamese immigrants set foot on America from their war torn country with nothing to their name. Nearly forty years later, the Vietnamese community has proudly established itself in cities all around the United States one of them being the city of San Diego. We want to give the small business owners on El Cajon Boulevard the recognition they deserve for overcoming the many socioeconomic, cultural and language barriers it took for them to set up Vietnamese businesses and for creating a welcoming environment for the Vietnamese community on El Cajon Blvd. by officially renaming the area "Little Saigon."
To raise awareness for our cause we hold annual events celebrating Vietnamese culture such as Tet Trung Thu (Mid-Autumn Moon Festival) and Tet Lunar New Year Celebration, and Lantern Fesitval.
We are constantly looking to improve ourselves and looking for highly motivated members who are passionate about community work and making a difference
