Honor

Honor is not the end all be all of what a person should strive for, but through it one can attain focus for life. Honor should be viewed as an umbrella of the tenets of holy living and of a Christ-like life. When we search after honor we gain insight into Christ’s will and purpose for our lives. Seek to serve though Christ and you will attain holiness if your purpose is his purpose. Honor is an inward expression of the spiritual work that Christ will do through you. It is the change within you that is outwardly expressed to others. Through attaining Honor you will understand what it means to store up treasures in Heaven.

Galatians 6:9 “So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.”

In all your ways acknowledge the Lord and be ready to take up His cross as your own. Be ready to battle the evil of both the spiritual and physical world.

The Six Tenants:

2. Family
3. Others
4. Liberty
5. Self
6. Sword

The Ethos of Honor:
• To love God and serve Him above all other Ethos or self-honor;
• To read God’s Holy Word, living out its teachings in my life.
• To be courageous in life.
• To love, respect, and defend the helpless, weak, and my neighbor.
• To honor my country.
• To stand strong before an enemy.
• To make war against evil in all its forms.
• To speak only truth.
• To be generous and give to the Lord what is his.
• To be a champion for Faith, Honor, and God’s law.
• To be loyal to your Brothers, Christians, and countrymen.
• To allow forbearance be my stance.
• To be of sound mind and body and soul
• To be gentle and gracious with all women.
• To gain Honor through upholding the Ethos.

Humanity is looking for Heroes. Men are looking for meaning and greatness in their lives, a way to achieve meaning and purpose. Hollywood, videogame creators, Marvel, and DC are all too happy to fill that void with honestly mostly meaningless false realities. While I in no way am saying that enjoying these pastimes is bad, I am saying that they fill a void that is meant to be filled with real Honor. Through your life here on earth you can attain greatness through acquiring Honor. By living a life worthy of Honor you will leave a mark on the world that no one will be able to deny. It is through this honorable living that you can create change for others. Devotion to Christ through seeking Honorable merit allows one to attain a sense of meaning and purpose.
