" SAVE THE DATE : Commissioner Dawn L. Henry of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources announced that the Division of Libraries, Archives, and Museums in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institute’s National Endowment for Humanities will be sponsoring a free workshop on Recovering Family Treasures at the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library on June 10, 2018 from 12pm-3pm.

Experts will be on hand to demonstrate how to handle dry and clean damaged objects and also to share tips on personal safety, setting priorities, and other preservation options. There will be examples of common personal heirlooms on display to demonstrate salvaging techniques. Due to safety concerns, please do not bring your damaged objects to the workshop. If you have specific questions about your personal heirlooms, feel free to bring images of each item to discuss with the preservation experts directly. "
