" We went here for our honeymoon, I origninally wanted to go to Bora Bora, but my dear husband wanted to surprise me and chose Ratua, which offered so much more. This place is so amazing, the staff are so friendly, managers Peter and Jo-Jo do an exceptional job at hosting and making sure you feel welcomed. Great food, great snorkelling, but I must not forget to mention as a certified massage therapist myself, it is very hard to find a therapist who doesn't pick up bad habits! Well at Ratua they have the most amazing therapist, and happy to say the best I have ever had and I am not easy to please! Well done to all, at Ratua Island, you guys are a great team. We truly hope to visit again one day. "

" We can't recommend Ratua highly enough. Everything is a must see and do experience. The peace, quiet and serenity is awe inspiring and meditative. It is like living in a work of art inhabiting the Indonesian wooden huts. The ambience is that of pure nature and beauty. The weather was perfect, mostly sunning during the day, one spectacular storm and then it rained most nights, lovely. We watched the sunset every evening from our private beach. No mosquitoes to speak of and we placed a pedestal fan inside the net and we were very comfortable at night. We had crisp white sheets on the canopy bed surrounded by netting. very exotic. The staff are very friendly and well mannered but not intrusive. Special mention must go to Mikko who organises the Dining and Bar Area with grace and precision. All the wait staff are very attentive and polite, the food and drinks are delicious. The produce and ingredients are so fresh and nothing is processed. Compliments to the chefs. We definitely recommend the meal package. Riding and swimming with the horses was exhilarating, Johnny is very kind and reassuring. Johnny also leads the very talented Island Band, they were great fun and made our night. Massage by Hami was delightfully divine. Bakoa gave us a magical experience by taking us across the passage to Malo Island, through gorgeous scenery to the pretty blue lagoon and then on to swim in the Blue Hole. My husband had fun with Jacob catching crabs and we especially enjoyed kayaking and drifting over the coral reefs observing fish of every colour, shape and size. We luxuriated in the clear blue water for many hours every day. My husband actually went swimming for the first time in over thirty years, it is so good. Special mention must go to Claude who was always making sure that all was good on our holiday by gesturing with both hands thumbs up. Thanks so much to Robin, captain of the ship, who ensured our safe passage to and from the island. Our holiday on Ratua Private Island was Unforgettable, Magical, Life Changing, we loved every minute of being on our own patch of paradise! "

" Intensely quiet and private - hear the flowers drop from the trees, the clink of hermit crabs, fish plopping in the water. Beautifully intriguing antique huts decorated with thought; awesome snorkelling directly out from your shoreline hut; just enough entertainment to keep you interested; healthy, fresh food, good coffee. Bong and Ayleen, the manager and his wife, you could not get lovelier "people's people". Can't wait to go back for my third visit, and dance with Bong, Ayleen and staff on the social Saturday night. Am determined also to tear myself away for a day to do a trek and float down an apparently wonderful gorge - plenty to be done if you can break away from snorkelling and paddle boarding to see the turtles. Would selfishly like to keep Ratua to myself, but it would be mean not to share that Ratua truly is the diamond of the island resorts. "
